Sunlabob took part in the International Green Tourism Exhibition, which was held in Vientiane, Laos, from 15th to 18th July 2009, as part of the 1st World Ecotourism Conference. The event welcomed 300 speakers and conference delegates from 30 countries, 69 exhibitors, and over 5000 visitors.
Laos aims to become a world-renowned destination for sustainable tourism. The country has a low population density; unspoiled, diverse ethnic lifestyles and traditions; and perhaps the richest, most extensive network of ecosystems on the Indochina Peninsula (source: www.ecotourismlaos.com). Visitors to this region are therefore encouraged to protect this unique cultural and natural heritage.
Sunlabob is proud of its good record of supporting ecotourism in the Lao PDR since 2004, date of our first collaboration with a sustainable tourism project. Since then, we have supplied solar lighting, solar water heaters, solar fridges, solar water purification systems, and electric bicycles to eco-lodges and tour operators around the country.
Our exhibition booth was very popular throughout the event, drawing many visitors interested in Sunlabob's products, especially our solar water heaters and solar water pumps. Visitors also had the opportunity to enjoy a test-ride of our electric bicycles in the grounds of the exhibition venue, where we also set up demonstrations of some of Sunlabob's larger energy and water solutions.
